if further away or can't tell how close that car behind me is when I'm on a hill and the light just turned green, then yes.
I could tell with the regular flat mirror, its just a little weird looking directly back, but great for peripheral view

I bought 2 new mirrors for my HD. The print says "The assholes in your mirror are closer than they appear". Love it.
